So, I am the world's best procrastinator. Seriously.
All of that aside I have finally determined that Blogspot is way better than Wordpress. There. I said it.
Here's how this blog happened.
I have been writing a 'lifestyle' blog for a few years now, and it had no direction. I still may keep it for those random times, but I really wanted to focus my attention and energy. Plus, a whole crop of health issues has come up through various close family (mainly my dad) and I want to get on a better track with keeping myself healthy as well as bringing other family and friends to a healthier state.
I've also been an independent consultant for Young Living essential oils for a few months now, and it's completely changed my life and has helped me get on a healthier track. I'll talk about it a little bit on this blog, but I promise it won't be an overload.
Here's the thing with this blog:
- I will NOT give myself the appearance of living a completely healthy, chemical free, preservative free lifestyle. Because I'm far from it. I'm trying to get as far away from that as possible, but I'm not perfect.
- I will NOT tell you to never ever eat candy, chocolate, etc. Because A) I'm not prepared to do it myself, and B) I say go for it. Feel like a chocolate bar once in a while? (Even once a week or every other week) Go for it. Depriving yourself of things you enjoy is not healthy, in my opinion. Unless it's something like smoking or excessive drinking. But that's a whole separate shpeel.
- I WILL tell you to exercise. It's important. Even just going for a half an hour walk a day. It's so crucial for your heart health and overall well being.
- I WILL tell you to avoid salt and fast food. Fast food is just so bad. McDonalds, A&W, you name it. Avoid it. Go for sushi, salads, pitas, subway even. Save your burger cravings for when you can make it at home. My goal is to post recipes for different sauces etc. in the near future.
That about sums it up. I want to try to motivate myself through this blog and hopefully motivate others as well. It's possible to avoid preservatives and chemicals (albeit not always completely) and live a long, healthy life.
Help me get motivated, and motivate yourself in the process. Give me feedback. Give me tips. Give me suggestions. I'm wide open to all positive energies!
Cheers.
